Very quaint and traditional shojin ryori tucked away in an alley with a beautiful entrance. Each party gets their own room to dine in, including a borigotatsu and yukimi! The staff are extremely friendly and attentive. My partner who has a masters in Japanese asked if one of the servers could read the cursive characters on a calligraphic tapestry. And while they initially couldn’t, they came back with clear handwritten kanji and an explanation of the text. If you love traditional Japanese experiences definitely don’t skip this!

Incredible experience at Bon. Came here with my girlfriend who is a vegetarian while we were visiting Tokyo. Service and food was amazing, really enjoyed our time here. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for an authentic dining experience.

First experience eating Japanese Buddhist food. In a quiet neighborhood with a cute courtyard and set up. Very friendly people running it. Food was fresh, delicious, healthy and beautifully presented. Reservations probably required. They don’t speak much English so best to get a Japanese speaker to call and make a booking.

Lovely. One of the best (if not the best meal) of my Japan vegan adventures. So many lovely flavors and new foods and food techniques. I was particularly fond of the tempura, and the soup and dry tofu were to die for...

We had a wonderful time at Bon celebrating my birthday on our first trip to Japan. We are vegetarian and we were excited to know that each course was meat and fish free. Everything was so delicious- even better than we expected. The flavors were exciting and the dishes were fun to look at and eat. The private rooms and excellent service were truly memorable. We had delicious sake and beer as well.
